KWPN (breeding family 1715)
Zazou R is the successful product of targeted line breeding. His pedigree boasts the top Dermie and Nubertha lines, paired with the foundation sires Joost, Abgar xx, and Wagner, and mixed with the blood of the international jumper stallion Cor d’Alme Z (Cor de la Bryere x Alme Z). The sire of this very handsome young stallion is the outstanding international jumper sire Tolan R. Zazou R’s dam, O Rubertha 12, is a half-sister to the international jumper stallion V.I.P., (s. Joost), who was the first horse to be sold in the United States for $1 million. Many very good jumpers come from Zazou R’s Nubertha line, including Rubert R, Caddy R, Balaboeska R, Cuba, Ferrari, Winston, Zebulon, Laurin Rubertha, Evert R, Adventure R, and Royal Beach Cupido, Wembly as well as the dressage horse Grand Seigneur.
Last year, Zazou R placed fifth in the KWPN Stallion Selection championships. The still youthful stallion has good rectangular shaped conformation and correct legs. Zazou R has a lot of Thoroughbred blood (46.85%), which makes him very attractive for contributing the blood that is much desired in the current breeding industry.
In 2009 Zazou R was very successful presenting his first crop of foals to the KWPN stallion commission. They were described as long legged foals who are built with rectangular shape. The canter is light footed with good length of pace and lots of ability to collect and lengthen the strides. Zazou R has a very high breeding value for show jumping (146).
In 2011 Ben Schröder will ride Zazou R in international classes for 7 year olds. With every jump, Zazou R shows his natural ability, his super fast reflexes and explosive take off. Zazou R is very easy to ride, he is careful, shows tremendous use of his hind quarters and has all the scope any rider could wish for.
Zazou R is available through frozen semen and limited fresh semen.
